RaveDuck's inability to influence his position plays into the theme of burrocracy.
Unfortunately, the very first arc of this comic plays out a bit schizophrenically. I could not simply create something very serious, but I could not create something overly humorous either. So I was forced to blend elements that would influence the story with the humor that would involve the reader and keep them reading. Unfortunately, I'm a bit rusty in the humor department I think.
The result comes across "okay." Not seriously entertaining but not visibly serious either. This is alright, though, as you've only just met the character and are certainly not attached enough to him to care if something serious happened anyway. Also, if you've read this far, chances are you're involved enough with the characters for the hooks to draw you in eventually.
