MMOs are definitely the easiest game to play, as experienced by their earlier counterparts text based games. These games are so simple that you can very easily program your character to do whatever it is your character does without your input.
But most MMO makers believe they are truly bringing something new to the table. They are new and different from other MMOs. So instead of starting you out as an experienced adventurer with levels, powers, and special abilities, every MMO makes you start as a novice. I suppose this is supposed to mimic real life and the human potential for growth. But starting as a novice priest all the time gets old after you rack up time playing as a priest. It's like being perfectly qualified but being forced into the entry level position.
Mandatory tutorials are ttly gay too.
